The 10,000 Steps Challenge

A pedometer is a tool used for estimating the distance travelled by foot by recording the number of steps taken. It has been proven to help you be more active in daily life. So borrow or buy one or download an app to track your steps. How far is 10,000 steps? An average person has a stride length of approximately 2.1 to 2.5 feet. That means that it takes over 2,000 steps to walk one mile; and 10,000 steps would be almost 5 miles. A sedentary person may only average 1,000 to 3,000 steps a day. For these people adding steps has many health benefits, which include: lowering risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Take a picture of your pedometer or screenshot your completed 10,000 steps. Upload it to the Today's Challenge wall to complete this challenge!
